From Blank Screen to App Store

By Aaruush Team · September 22, 2026 · 1 min read

The air felt different on the morning of September 12. As we walked in, many of us had the same question: "Where do you even start?" App development had always seemed like something meant for experts, but at the Aaruush '25 workshop, it suddenly felt within reach. From the start, the energy was high. We weren't there just to listen, we were there to build. We jumped into Xcode and Swift right away. At first, Apple's development environment felt intimidating, but it quickly became exciting once we understood the basics. Swift was surprisingly elegant and approachable. One of the best moments was when our first lines of code actually worked. For the first time, apps stopped feeling like magic and started making sense. Later, we moved into design, learning how to build user interfaces that are clear and intuitive. The biggest highlight was running a full application which we had created from scratch. Watching it come to life on screen changed everything; it made app development feel real and achievable. We also explored monetisation and revenue models, which made the career path feel more practical. The afternoon sessions focused on the future. We looked at how AI can help generate code and simplify complex tasks, making solo projects feel less overwhelming. We also learned how APIs connect apps to the wider digital world. By the end, one thing stood out: being a developer is about more than syntax; it's about resilience, creativity, and the willingness to keep building. Leaving with my e-certificate and thoughts of future internships, I felt like more than just a student. I felt like someone who could truly imagine bringing their ideas to the App Store.
