- AboutSliding into controlled chaos, the Turbo Drift RC Car Racing event is set to ignite excitement at the national-level techno-management fest, Aaruush 25, hosted by SRMIST. This adrenaline-fueled competition is dedicated exclusively to internal combustion engine-based 1/10 scale drift cars, meticulously engineered for agility, speed, and flawless drifting. These miniature powerhouses will glide through intricate, obstacle-laden tracks, demanding perfect balance between throttle control and steering finesse.
- StructureRound 0: Practice
Each participant gets two practice laps to get a feel for the track, adjust their vehicle settings, and plan their race strategy.
Round 1: Technical Inspection
Participants must present their cars and explain how they were built.
Round 2: Qualifying
This round determines the starting grid for the main race. Participants' lap times are recorded, and the fastest time earns them a spot at the front of the grid.
Round 3: Main Race & Elimination
This is a 3-lap race where participants are judged on their lap times and overall performance. The bottom 50% of competitors will be eliminated, ensuring that only the top performers advance to the next round.
Finals: Championship Race

1. What is the date of the event?
Ans. The event will be held on September 13, 2025.
2. Is there an entry fee?
Ans. Yes, there is an entry fee for the event.
3. How much is the entry fee?
Ans. The entry fee is ₹300.
4. Are readymade RC-cars allowed?
Ans. No, readymade RC-cars are not allowed. Participants must build their own RC-cars for the event.
5. What is the venue for the event?
Ans. The event will take place at TP Ground, SRM, Kattankulathur.
6. Are ready-made parts allowed?
Ans. Yes, ready-made wheels are allowed.
7. What type of car is required for the event?
Ans. Participants must make a wireless remote-controlled machine powered by a single IC (Internal Combustion) engine. It should be able to race against opponents on an off-road dirt track with various obstacles.
8. How many members can a team have?
Ans. A team can have a maximum of five members, who may belong to different institutions.
9. Can a team be disqualified?
Ans. Yes, a team can be disqualified for several reasons, including: - Using a car component that could damage the arena or another car. - Starting the car a second time before the flag is waved. - Team members touching the car during the race (unless to reposition it). - Intentionally damaging an opponent's car. - The machine being deemed dangerous by judges and organizers.
10. What happens if two cars crash during the race?
Ans. A time penalty will be added to the final time of the team responsible for the crash. The penalty is based on the severity and intention of the accident and is at the organizers' discretion.
11. What are the rules for touching the car during the race?
Ans. Once the race begins, only one designated team member is allowed to enter the track to reposition the car if needed.
12. Is the organizer's decision final?
Ans. Yes, the decisions made by the organizers and judges are considered final and binding on all participants. Organizers also reserve the right to change any rules as they see fit.
13. What about practice sessions?
Ans. Practice slots will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. The time for practice will be announced on the day of the event.
