Spotlight 2.0! is a dynamic multi-round theatre and film event that celebrates creativity, performance, and storytelling. It brings together solo acts, improvisation, and short films to showcase the full spectrum of theatrical talent.
With rounds ranging from online short film submissions and gripping mono acts to spontaneous improv challenges, the event offers participants a stage to display their acting skills, originality, and artistic expression.
Concluding with a grand short film projection and valedictory ceremony, Spotlight 2.0! is both a celebration of performance arts and a platform for nurturing talent and community in theatre.

Event Structure - Spotlight 2.0!
Spotlight 2.0! is a hybrid theatre and film event featuring two distinct categories of participation: Audition 1 – Short Film Submission (Online) and Audition 2 – Mono Act Performance (On-Campus). Participants may register in either Audition 1 or Audition 2.
The event begins with online short film entries and continues on campus with live theatrical performances, improvisation challenges, and a final short film projection, offering a comprehensive platform for both cinematic and theatrical expression.
Audition 1 – Short Film Submission (Online)
- Submission of original short films.
- Evaluated on scripting, acting, direction, and editing.
Audition 2 – Mono Act (On-Campus)
- Solo performances by participants.
- Judged on dialogue delivery, character portrayal, and stage presence.
Round 3 – Improv Challenge (On-Campus)
- Qualified participants perform spontaneous acts based on surprise prompts.
- Evaluation criteria: creativity, adaptability, and audience engagement.
Final Stage Round – Short Film Projection & Valedictory
- Projection of shortlisted films.
- Formal announcement of winners.
- Concludes with the grand closing ceremony.

Day 0 – Short Film Submission Window Opens
Online submissions for Audition 1 (Short Film) begin and remain open until 12th September. -
Day 1 (12th Sept) – Mono Act Performances
On-campus Audition 2 (Mono Act) where participants deliver solo stage performances. -
Day 2 – Improv Challenge
Qualified participants from both categories compete in the spontaneous improv round. -
Day 3 – Final Screening & Valedictory
Projection of shortlisted short films, announcement of winners, and the closing ceremony.

Day 0 – Short Film Submission Window Opens
- Rules
Rules - Spotlight 2.0!
- Participants may register for either Audition 1 (Short Film Submission) or Audition 2 (Mono Act Performance).
- Short Film Submissions may be individual or in teams and must not exceed 10 minutes, including credits.
- Mono Act Performances are strictly individual, with a duration of 7 to 20 minutes.
- Improv Challenge performances shall run for 10 to 15 minutes.
- All content must be original; plagiarized or uncredited material will result in disqualification.
- Submissions and performances may be in any language, but English subtitles are encouraged.
- Content must remain respectful and appropriate.
- The decision of the judges shall be final and binding.
