- AboutAerospanza is an innovative 22-day online competition that challenges student teams to develop practical solutions to real-world problems in the aviation and aerospace sector. The event serves as a bridge between students and industry experts, offering valuable exposure to current challenges in the aviation industry. It begins with an inaugural ceremony, followed by three rounds: a quiz to test domain knowledge, a PPT submission round where teams propose UAV designs, and a final round involving 3D modelling using CAD tools like Fusion 360, SolidWorks, or Onshape. The event culminates in a valedictory ceremony, celebrating creativity, technical skill, and problem-solving in aerospace innovation.
- StructureAerospanza is structured into three rounds
Round 1: Quiz Round
The participating teams will be provided with a set of 40 multiple-choice questions that have to be completed in 30 minutes, with questions based on aerodynamics, UAV types, applications, and basic CAD principles.
Round 2: Design PPT Submission
Qualified teams will be required to submit PowerPoint presentations showcasing their UAV design concept. The submission should include a clearly defined problem statement, the type of UAV proposed, the structural layout (block diagram), key design features, and materials assumed.
Round 3: Designing and Technical Presentation Round
i. Designing Phase:
Shortlisted teams will be required to design and submit a complete 3D virtual UAV model using professional CAD software such as Fusion 360, SolidWorks, Onshape, or any other suitable tool. Alongside the model, teams must also submit a design documentation/report or presentation.
ii. Technical Presentation:
In this round, the selected top 5 teams will participate in the Technical Presentation round, where they will present their submitted PPT and 3D designs to a panel of expert judges. - Timeline12th July 2025 - Inaugural Ceremony
